Lindsay Lohan reveals shocking reason she prefers Dubai over Hollywood

Lindsay Lohan reveals reason she prefers Dubai over Hollywood

Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan divulged the unexpected reason why she prefers to live in Dubai, rather than Los Angeles, with her family.

Lindsay Lohan – News and Updates

Actor-singer Lindsay Lohan, who ditched the ultra-glam life of the City of Stars over a decade ago, when she moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2014, revealed the shocking reason why she loves the Gulf life and prefers to live there with her husband, Kuwaiti financier Bader Shammas, and their 2-year-old, Luai.

“It’s just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life,” Lohan said during her latest TV show appearance, as she continues to promote her forthcoming sequel, ‘Freakier Friday’.

“There’s no worry of like, ‘I can’t go eat at this place ‘cause someone’s gonna take a picture of my son.’ I feel very safe,” she reasoned, adding that the family doesn’t have to worry about being clicked by paparazzi there, thanks to the strict laws in Dubai. “It’s not legal, you can’t take a picture of someone else if you’re in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here.”

“Privacy is key,” the Disney alum summed up in the end.

Karachi airport attack: SHC hears bail plea of accused facilitator

Karachi, Karachi airport, Chinese national, latest news, Pakistan, news update

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday heard the bail application of accused Gul Nisa, arrested in connection with a suicide attack targeting Chinese nationals near Karachi airport, ARY News reported.

According to reports, the prosecution submitted the final charge sheet and forensic report to the court.

The court directed that copies of the report and charge sheet be provided to the defence counsel.

The case, which involves serious allegations of facilitation in a terrorist act, has seen both Gul Nisa and a co-accused, Javed, taken into custody by Karachi police.

According to police, the suspects are accused of aiding the suicide bomber who targeted Chinese citizens near Karachi airport in October 2024.

The incident raised significant concerns about the security of foreign nationals in Karachi, especially those linked to development projects.

The Additional Prosecutor General informed the court that both the final charge sheet and the forensic report had already been submitted to the relevant trial court in Karachi.

The Sindh High Court adjourned further proceedings on the bail plea until 7 August.

The defence counsel for the female suspect, arrested on charges of facilitating the attackers, has requested the court to direct authorities to provide call data records and CCTV footage, including video showing the suspect’s entry via Hub route.

Responding to the plea, the Karachi court issued notices to the prosecution and investigating officer, asking both parties to submit replies by 2 August.

The court has also reserved its decision on the request for video footage, with a ruling expected at the next hearing.

The challan states that the suicide attack resulted in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and one local citizen, while six others, including a woman, sustained injuries.

Two accused, Javed and a woman named Gul Nisa, were taken into custody. Shah Fahad, who carried out the suicide bombing, was allegedly radicalized by Bashir Zaib and Rehman Gul.

Government to deregulate sugar sector under IMF conditions, sources

Pakistan, IMF, International monetary fund, Sugar deregulation,

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has decided to end its intervention in the sugar sector as part of the conditions agreed upon with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), ARY News reported, citing sources.

Proposals have been finalised to fully deregulate the sugar industry, with the government limiting its role to maintaining a buffer stock of 500,000 tonnes of sugar, according to sources within the Ministry of Industries and Production.

Beyond this buffer stock, the government of Pakistan will not intervene in pricing, procurement, or supply mechanisms, allowing the private sector to operate freely.

The final draft of the proposal, prepared in consultation with key stakeholders, is expected to be presented to the Prime Minister next week.

The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) will retain a stock equal to one month’s national consumption.

Meanwhile, all other sugar handling and trade will be managed by the private sector.

The draft suggests that if deregulation leads to price volatility, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) subsidy budget could be increased to protect vulnerable consumers.

In the case of surplus production, sugar will be exported, an approach aimed at ensuring better prices for sugarcane farmers.

Government of Pakistan estimates indicate that by running sugar mills at 70 percent capacity instead of the current 50 percent, an additional 2.5 million tonnes of sugar can be produced.

The excess sugar, if exported, could generate up to $1.5 billion in foreign exchange, according to the draft proposal.

Also Read: IMF ‘objects’ to sugar import subsidy

Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) expressed reservations over Pakistan’s decision to offer tax exemptions and subsidies on imported sugar, warning that such measures could jeopardise the ongoing $7 billion loan program.

According to official sources, the IMF opposed the government’s plan to provide a subsidy of Rs55 per kilogram on imported sugar, which is expected to arrive in Pakistan at a cost of Rs249 per kg.

The international lender has also rejected the Pakistan government’s justification that the import falls under “food emergency” measures.

Sarah Khan issues clarification on her anti-feminism remark

A-list actor Sarah Khan clarifies her previous remarks against feminism, saying she is, in fact, the ‘OG feminist’, but doesn’t believe in its modern-day version.

Weeks after Sarah Khan invited trolls and backlash with her candid confession, saying, “I’m not really a feminist,” the ‘Sher’ star has now clarified that what she meant was that she’s not a ‘today’s version’ of feminist, but the ‘real and original’ one.

“When I say I’m not a feminist, I don’t mean I don’t believe in equality,” Khan set the record straight. “I absolutely believe in equal respect, equal rights and equal opportunities for women.”

“I’m an OG feminist. The kind that believes a woman’s strength lies not in imitating men, but in owning her divine femininity. I believe women are powerful enough to be treated like the queens; they are respected, cherished, and valued for who they truly are. Women were never meant to labour like machines. We are made to nurture homes, raise empires, build generations, and lead with grace,” she explained with the example of Hazrat Khadija (RA) – ‘a successful businesswoman, yet the epitome of dignity, balance and womanhood’.

Sarah Khan issues clarification on her anti-feminism remark

“Feminism shouldn’t mean abandoning femininity. It should mean honouring our choices, even if that choice is home, motherhood, softness, and strength wrapped in love. It’s a divine power. Let’s not trade it for the version of strength that forgets who we really are,” the actor urged in the end.

On the work front, Sarah Khan is currently ruling the TV screens as Dr Fajar in the blockbuster serial ‘Sher’, co-starring superstar Danish Taimoor. Helmed by veteran actor-director Aehsun Talish and scripted by ace playwright Zanjabeel Asim Shah, iDream Entertainment’s production airs every Wednesday and Thursday, in prime time, only on ARY Digital.

Four dead, eight missing in China landslide after heavy rain

Four dead eight missing, China landslide, heavy rain

BEIJING: A landslide triggered by unusually heavy rain killed four people and left eight others missing in northern China’s Hebei province, state media said on Monday, as downpours force thousands to evacuate.

The landslide in a village near Chengde City was “due to heavy rainfall”, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

The national emergency management department said it dispatched a team to inspect the “severe” flooding in Hebei, which encircles the capital Beijing.

Swathes of northern China have been inundated in recent days, with record rain in Hebei killing two people on Saturday, state media said.

In Fuping County, more than 4,600 people were evacuated over the weekend, it said.

And in neighbouring Shanxi province, one person was rescued and 13 were missing after a bus accident, CCTV reported.

Footage from the broadcaster showed roads in Shanxi and a crop field submerged in rushing water on Sunday.

In Beijing, more than 3,000 people in suburban Miyun district were evacuated due to torrential rains.

The area’s reservoir “recorded its largest inflow flood” since it was built more than six decades ago, state media reported.

On Monday in Mujiayu, a town just south of the reservoir, AFP journalists saw power lines swept away by muddy currents while military vehicles and ambulances ploughed through flooded roads.

A river had burst its banks, sweeping away trees, while fields of crops were inundated with flood water.

Authorities in the capital issued the country’s second-highest warning for rainstorms and the highest for floods, state news agency Xinhua said.

The downpours are expected to last until Tuesday morning.

Flash floods in eastern China’s Shandong province killed two people and left 10 missing this month.

A landslide on a highway in Sichuan province this month also killed five people after it swept several cars down a mountainside.

Superhero films ignite rivalry among Marvel and DC comic fans

Superhero films ignite rivalry among Marvel and DC comic fans

Comic fans are embracing the latest showdown between Marvel and DC as their superhero films, ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Superman’, compete for box office dominance, reigniting a rivalry spanning over eight decades.

Click here to read more Lifestyle stories

Whether it’s the thrill of seeing the comic book superhero The Thing shout “It’s clobbering time!” before throwing a punch or watching Superman and his faithful pup Krypto save the day, fans are heading to movie theatres to support their favourite films.

“Well, clearly I’m a Marvel fan,” said Danielle Stroski, who was dressed as the shapeshifter character Mystique from Marvel’s X-Men comics, at the San Diego Comic-Con.

“But I have a little white dog at home, so I love me some ‘Superman’ as well. And I know the little white dog is stealing the show for ‘Superman, so it’s going to be close. But I got to go to Marvel,” she added.

The 42-year-old from California predicted ‘Fantastic Four’ would outperform ‘Superman’ at the box office.

DC fan Lito Loza, dressed as Superboy, voiced his support for ‘Superman’. “I’ve already seen ‘Superman’ three times, and I’m very, very happy with what James Gunn did with it. It makes me feel hopeful,” he said, referring to the director.

The filmmakers encourage fans to support both movies.

“I’m a huge Superman fan. I’m a huge James Gunn fan. I’m thrilled that both of us are coming out this month,” director Matt Shakman of ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ told Reuters at the London premiere.

“I think we share a lot of similar optimism in our tone and our feeling in the worlds that we’re building. And there’s room for ‘Superman,’ there’s room for ‘Fantastic Four.’ I’m thrilled. Go see both,” he added.

‘Superman’ director Gunn, who directed the Marvel movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, said in an interview in Los Angeles that he grew up reading both Marvel and DC comic books, appreciating their distinct tones.

In theatres on July 11, ‘Superman’ introduced David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The movie grossed around $173 million globally and $264 million domestically for a total of around $437 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Warner Bros has heavily invested in ‘Superman’, aiming to launch a new era at DC Studios under Gunn, who has been named co-CEO, alongside producer Peter Safran. Upcoming projects include a Supergirl film slated for June 2026 and a film based on the character Swamp Thing, as well as TV shows for HBO Max.

Disney said on Saturday that by the end of Friday, ‘Fantastic Four’, which stars Pedro Pascal, had earned an estimated $106.2 million globally, including $57 million domestically and $49.2 million internationally.

Rubio says Gaza ceasefire deal could happen ‘any day now’

Marco Rubio, Gaza, Gaza ceasefire , ceasefire deal , Palestine,

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told Fox News that Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has been working “day and night for weeks” on ceasefire negotiations.

“They’ve made a lot of progress, and they’re close,” Rubio said.

“We’re optimistic and hopeful that any day now, we will have a ceasefire agreement where at least half the hostages, including the deceased, will be released, and at the end of that 60-day period, the remaining hostages will be released,” he said.

Speaking about the captives still held in Gaza, Rubio said: “The good news is every American is out now. We care about all the hostages.”

“There’s a very simple solution to what’s happening in Gaza. Release all the hostages, lay down your arms, and the war ends for Hamas,” he said.

Rubio’s remarks come days after Witkoff said Washington was cutting short its involvement in the negotiations, claiming Hamas had shown “a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire”.

The Israeli military announced on Sunday a pause in military activity in three designated areas of Gaza, shortly after it said it was taking several steps to ease the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.

The pause will take place daily in Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City, from 10 a.m. (0700 GMT) to 8 p.m. (1700 GMT) until further notice, the military said.

Designated secure routes will also be in place permanently from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., it added.

Aid trucks started moving towards Gaza from Egypt, the Egyptian state-affiliated Al Qahera News TV said on Sunday, after months of international pressure and warnings from relief agencies of starvation spreading in the Palestinian enclave.

Israel said that it began aid airdrops to Gaza on Saturday and was taking several other steps to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

US, Israel recall teams from Gaza truce talks after Hamas proposal

Gaza truce, Gaza, US, Israel , Hamas proposal

United States special envoy Steve Witkoff has said he is cutting short talks aimed at reaching a truce in Israel’s war on Gaza, after the latest proposal from Hamas showed “a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire”.

Witkoff made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, just hours after the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had also recalled its negotiating team from Qatar amid the latest diplomatic flurry.

Hamas, which has repeatedly accused Israel of blocking a ceasefire agreement, said it was surprised by Witkoff’s remarks.

“The movement affirms its keenness to continue negotiations and engage in them in a manner that helps overcome obstacles and leads to a permanent ceasefire agreement,” said Hamas in a statement released late on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Hamas had submitted its latest response to a ceasefire framework floated by mediators Qatar, Egypt and the US. Netanyahu’s office confirmed receipt of the response, and said it was under review. Neither side disclosed the contents.

Both Israel and Hamas are facing growing international pressure to reach an agreement as the humanitarian and hunger crisis in the territory continues to deteriorate sharply amid Israel’s severe restrictions on the entry of aid.

At least 115 people have died from malnutrition since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October 2023, mostly in recent weeks, as the United Nations and aid agencies have warned that Gaza’s residents were facing mass starvation.

“While the mediators have made a great effort, Hamas does not appear to be coordinated or acting in good faith,” Witkoff said in a statement.

“We will now consider alternative options to bring the hostages home and try to create a more stable environment for the people of Gaza,” Witkoff said, without elaborating.

Witkoff, a businessman with no formal diplomatic experience prior to his appointment, said the US remains “resolute” in seeking an end to the war in Gaza, adding it was “a shame that Hamas has acted in this selfish way”.

The current proposal under discussion has been reported to include a 60-day ceasefire in which Hamas would release 10 living captives and the remains of 18 others. In turn, Palestinians imprisoned by Israel would be released and aid supplies would be ramped up as the two sides held negotiations on a lasting truce.

Details of the current sticking point were not immediately clear, but officials from both sides have previously pointed to a dispute over what would happen in the wake of any new ceasefire.

Israel has repeatedly said it plans to deploy the military long term in Gaza, seeking a complete defeat of Hamas, despite warnings that such a goal is unrealistic.

Earlier this month, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz reportedly laid out a plan for the forced transfer of Palestinians to a “humanitarian city” within Gaza, a maximalist approach that critics say would violate international law.

Israel’s government has also faced domestic pressure over the plan, amid fears it would foreclose ceasefire negotiations and block the release of captives still held in Gaza.

PEPPER SPRAY FIRED AT AID SITE

Women going to fetch aid for their families on Thursday said U.S. contractors organising distribution asked them to come to pick up goods and then fired tear gas and pepper spray at them.

“The Americans said ‘go, go’, and then said no, get back. They sprayed us with pepper spray so we went away. Five minutes later they shot tear gas at us … is this American humanitarian aid?” said Mervat al-Sakani.

Asked for comment, a spokesperson for the aid organisation – the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation – said a limited amount of pepper spray was used “to prevent civilian injury due to overcrowding”, adding that GHF “didn’t want people to get hurt.” The spokesperson said women-only aid distribution had been “a major success” overall.

GHF, a U.S.-and Israeli-backed organization, began distributing food packages in Gaza at the end of May.

The U.N. has called the GHF’s model unsafe and a breach of humanitarian impartiality standards, which GHF denies.

The U.N. rights office said on July 15 it had recorded at least 875 killings within the preceding six weeks in the vicinity of aid sites and food convoys in Gaza – the majority of them close to GHF distribution points.

Most of those deaths were caused by gunfire that locals have blamed on the Israeli military. The military has acknowledged that civilians were harmed, saying that Israeli forces had been issued new instructions with “lessons learned”.

Israel, which cut off all supplies to Gaza from the start of March and reopened it with new restrictions in May, says it is committed to allowing in aid but must control it to prevent Hamas diverting it.

Israel says it has let in enough food for Gazans, and blames the United Nations for being slow to deliver it; the U.N. says it is operating as effectively as possible under conditions imposed by Israel.

The war began when Hamas killed some 1,200 people and took 251 hostages in its October 7 attacks on Israel, according to Israeli tallies. Israel has since killed nearly 60,000 innocent Palestinians in Gaza, according to Gaza health authorities.

Dustin Poirier picks the hardest shots he’s ever taken

Dustion Poirier, UFC, MMA News

Dustin Poirier, who recently retired after UFC 318, has spoken about the toughest strikes he has taken during his long and respected career.

Latest UFC News

The former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion, known for his toughness and strong chin, shared some honest reflections before his final fight.

Dustin Poirier, who lost to Max Holloway by decision in his farewell bout, admitted that he has been stopped by strikes a few times throughout his time in the Octagon.

Despite being hit hard by many top-level fighters, there are a few moments that stand out for him.

One of the most powerful blows Poirier remembers was the head kick he took from Justin Gaethje. Gaethje knocked him out at UFC 291 and became the first person to finish him by strikes in seven years. Poirier called that kick one of the nastiest he has experienced.

Another strong punch that Poirier remembers came during his first fight with Conor McGregor back in 2014.

McGregor stopped him in the first round of their featherweight match at UFC 178. While Dustin Poirier would later beat McGregor in their rematches, that early defeat left a lasting impression.

Over the years, Dustin Poirier has faced some of the biggest names in the UFC.

His record includes fights with Khabib Nurmagomedov, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, Eddie Alvarez, and of course, Gaethje and McGregor.

His journey through the featherweight and lightweight divisions has been filled with tough battles and unforgettable moments.

Dustin Poirier also shared that he wished he could have fought legends like BJ Penn and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

Another fight that slipped away was a planned bout with Nate Diaz in 2018, which fell through due to injury.

Even Tony Ferguson was once a possible opponent for Poirier. Talks for a fight were in place in 2020, but they couldn’t agree on a deal, so it never happened.

Hollywood star Paul Wesley, 42, best known for starring as Stefan Salvatore in the supernatural series ‘The Vampire Diaries’, has been engaged to young model Natalie Kuckenburg, 25, she announced in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Taking to her official handle over the weekend, the German-Brazilian model posted a monochromatic snap of her hand, held by Wesley, as she flaunted a sparkler on her ring finger. “Yes 🤍 Always and forever,” she wrote in the caption of the picture post, confirming that the actor, who has been married twice previously, popped the question to Kuckenburg, after nearly three years of dating.

Notably, Wesley first sparked dating rumours with Kuckenburg back in 2022, when the two enjoyed an Italy getaway in November, including a romantic dinner date in Nerano. Since then, both have been quite regular in the social media posts of their respective partners.

It is worth noting here that Wesley has been married twice previously.

He first tied the knot with his ‘Killer Movie’ co-star Torrey DeVitto in 2011, after dating her for four years. However, the two were divorced in 2013.

He was then married to Brad Pitt’s current flame, jewellery designer Ines de Ramon, from 2019 till 2022. Their divorce was finalised last February.

IHC serves show-cause notice to federal cabinet in Dr Aafia case

Dr Aafia Siddiqui case, IHC, Show-cause, federal cabinet, Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a show-cause notice to the federal cabinet for contempt of court in the case pertaining to the release and repatriation of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, ARY News reported.

The hearing, presided over by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, was held on a petition filed by Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is currently imprisoned in the United States.

Justice Ijaz Ishaq expressed strong displeasure over the federal government’s failure to submit a report explaining its refusal to assist in Dr. Aafia’s case before a U.S. court, despite being directed to do so in June.

“If the federal government’s report is not presented, I will summon the entire cabinet. Why shouldn’t contempt proceedings be initiated against all cabinet members, including the Prime Minister?” the judge remarked.

The court granted the government time to submit the report, warning of serious legal consequences for further delays.

The hearing was attended by Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui’s lawyer, Imran Shafiq, and Additional Attorney General Rashid Hafeez, representing the federal government.

The judge emphasized that he was determined to provide justice, even on a holiday, and would not allow administrative powers to obstruct judicial authority. “In the past, the judges’ roster has been used to influence decisions in specific cases. I will not let justice be defeated,” Justice Ijaz declared. He vowed to use his judicial powers to uphold the dignity of the high court.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted time to the federal government for the submission of a report to explain that why it is refusing to cooperate in the US court on Dr. Aafia’s case.

The court expressed serious displeasure over the government’s continued failure to submit a report explaining its stance.

Trump sues Wall Street Journal over Epstein report, seeks $10 billion

Trump-Wall Street Journal, Wall Street Journal , Epstein report, Donald Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump sued the Wall Street Journal and its owners including Rupert Murdoch for at least $10 billion on Friday, over the newspaper’s report that his name was on a 2003 birthday greeting for Jeffrey Epstein that included a sexually suggestive drawing and a reference to secrets they shared.

The lawsuit filed in Miami federal court names Murdoch, Dow Jones, News Corp and its Chief Executive Robert Thomson, and two Wall Street Journal reporters as defendants, saying they defamed Trump and caused him to suffer “overwhelming” financial and reputational harm.

Epstein, the disgraced financier and sex offender, died by suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019.

His case has generated conspiracy theories that became popular among Trump’s base of supporters who believed the government was covering up Epstein’s ties to the rich and powerful.

Trump has said he parted ways with Epstein before the financier’s legal troubles became public in 2006.

The president has vehemently denied the Journal report, which Reuters has not verified, and had warned Murdoch that he planned to sue. Dow Jones, the parent of the newspaper, is a division of News Corp.

“We have just filed a POWERHOUSE Lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, FAKE NEWS ‘article’ in the useless ‘rag’ that is, The Wall Street Journal,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“I hope Rupert and his ‘friends’ are looking forward to the many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case,” Trump added.

A spokesperson for Dow Jones said in a statement: “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting, and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit.”

The lawsuit called Trump’s alleged birthday greeting “fake,” and said the Journal published its article to harm Trump’s reputation.

“Tellingly, the Article does not explain whether Defendants have obtained a copy of the letter, have seen it, have had it described to them, or any other circumstances that would otherwise lend credibility to the Article,” the lawsuit said.

To prevail on his defamation claims, Trump must show the defendants acted with “actual malice,” meaning they knew the article was false or acted with reckless disregard for its truth.

A $10 billion award would far exceed the largest defamation judgments and settlements in recent history.

These include a $1.5 billion judgment against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and Fox News’ settlement with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million.

“Ten billion dollars is a ridiculously high number,” said Jesse Gessin, a lawyer with experience in defamation and First Amendment litigation. “It would be the largest defamation verdict in U.S. history.”

WHITE HOUSE ROILED

The Epstein affair has increasingly disquieted the White House, after the Justice Department this month concluded that there was no evidence to support long-held conspiracy theories about his clients and death.

Some of Trump’s most loyal followers became furious after his administration reversed course on its promise to release files on Epstein.

A Justice Department memo released on July 7 concluded that Epstein killed himself and said there was “no incriminating client list” or evidence that Epstein blackmailed prominent people.

With pressure to release the Epstein files building, Trump on Thursday said he directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to ask a court to release grand jury testimony about Epstein.

The U.S. government on Friday filed a motion in Manhattan federal court to unseal grand jury transcripts in the cases of Epstein and former associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

She was convicted in 2021 of five federal charges related to her role in Epstein’s sexual abuse of underage girls. Maxwell is appealing her conviction and 20-year prison sentence to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Public officials, lawmakers, pundits, and ordinary citizens remain deeply interested and concerned about the Epstein matter,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in the filing. “After all, Jeffrey Epstein is the most infamous pedophile in American history.”

Blanche said prosecutors would work to redact all victim-identifying information before making anything public.

The release of the grand jury documents may fall short of what many of Trump’s supporters have sought, including case files held by the administration, and a judge may reject the administration’s request to make the transcripts public.

BAWDY LETTER

The Journal said the letter bearing Trump’s name was part of a leather-bound birthday book for Epstein that included messages from other high-profile people.

It also said the letter contained several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appeared to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker.

The newspaper said the letter concluded “Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret,” and featured the signature “Donald.”

Allegations that Epstein sexually abused girls became public in 2006, after the birthday book was allegedly produced, and he was arrested that year before accepting a plea deal.

Epstein died just over a month after he was arrested for a second time and charged with sex-trafficking conspiracy.

Trump was photographed with Epstein multiple times in social situations in the 1990s and early 2000s, and had been a neighbor of Epstein’s in Florida.

He was quoted in 2002 in New York magazine as saying, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

In 2019, Trump told reporters that he and Epstein had a “falling out” before the financier was first arrested.

Trump said he “knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him” but that “I had a falling out with him. I haven’t spoken to him in 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”
