Kristen Stewart feels like a ‘proud parent’ with Cannes directorial debut

Kristen Stewart feels like a 'proud parent' with Cannes directorial debut

Kristen Stewart said on Saturday that making her directorial debut with ‘The Chronology of Water’ at the Cannes Film Festival felt like sending a child off to school for the first time.

To Read Lifestyle Stories in Urdu – Click Here

“I’m so proud of it. It’s like watching your kid go to school,” Kristen Stewart told Reuters the day after her film’s premiere.

“It feels like all of a sudden the things that I’ve wanted to do for just so long happened all at the same time,” said the actor who rose to fame with the ‘Twilight’ series and received an Oscar nomination for her performance as Britain’s Princess Diana in the film ‘Spencer’.

“My head is spinning, but in the best way,” she added.

Her film is adapted from Lidia Yuknavitch’s 2011 memoir of the same name that chronicles the author’s attempt to escape an abusive household through competitive swimming in the 1980s and eventual path to becoming a respected author.

British actor Imogen Poots, known for ‘Green Room’ and ’28 Weeks Later’, stars as Yuknavitch in what The Rolling Stone lauded as an ‘all-or-nothing type of performance’.

“There’s a line in the book that made me want to make it a movie, which is like, ‘Can you hold life and death in the same sentence?’ And that’s what cinema can do,” said Stewart.

“With this movie, we can just speak to the fact that the things that happen don’t matter as much as how you process those things and define them within your own body,” she added.

Stewart’s film is competing in the second-tier Un Certain Regard section, where actors Scarlett Johansson and Harris Dickinson are also marking their first time as directors.

‘The Chronology of Water’ was met with positive reviews, with Deadline calling it a ‘raw and intricately constructed take on a biopic’ and The Guardian giving it three out of five stars.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs abused ex-girlfriend Cassie; testitfies Pop singer

Sean 'Diddy' Combs abused ex-girlfriend Casandra ventura; testitfies Pop singer

Pop singer Dawn Richard told a jury in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking trial on Friday that she often saw the hip-hop mogul beat his then-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, who earlier testified that Combs physically and emotionally abused her throughout their 11-year relationship.

To Read Lifestyle Stories in Urdu – Click Here

Dawn Richard recounted an incident at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Los Angeles home in 2009 when he beat Casandra Ventura and dragged her upstairs by the hair. Richard then said she heard breaking glass and screaming.

“He came down the stairs screaming, belligerent, asking where his food was and proceeded to hit her over the head and beat her on the ground in front of us,” Richard told the jury in Manhattan federal court during a fifth day of testimony.

Richard said Combs called her and others who witnessed the assault into the studio the next day, gave them flowers and said their careers would be harmed if they reported the incident.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to five felony counts of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has been held since September in a Brooklyn jail when not in court. If convicted on all counts, he could face a minimum of 15 years in prison and life behind bars.

The 38-year-old Ventura, a rhythm and blues singer known as Cassie, told jurors earlier that Combs coerced and blackmailed her into taking part in days of drug-fueled sex parties he called ‘Freak Offs’ at the heart of the prosecution’s case.

She said she suffered years of physical and emotional abuse during their tumultuous relationship.

Richard is expected to resume her testimony on Monday. The trial, which has drawn intense media coverage because of Combs’ wealth and towering influence in the music industry, could last up to two months.

Richard has a pending civil lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of subjecting her to inhumane working conditions, including groping and assaulting her. The lawsuit says Richard saw Combs brutally beat Ventura on many occasions.

Before Richard’s testimony, jurors saw photos of items found during a search of Combs’ hotel room on the day of his arrest last September. The items include bottles of baby oil, lubricant, bags of cocaine and other drugs, some prescribed to people other than Combs.

Combs placed his hand on his forehead and spoke to his lawyers while jurors were shown bags of pink powder that a law enforcement witness said tested positive for MDMA and ketamine. A prosecutor handed jurors bags of drugs and cash.

Defense Challenges Credibility of Rape Allegation

For much of Friday’s testimony, a lawyer representing Combs sought to undercut Casandra Ventura’s claim that he raped her in 2018, showing jurors text messages indicating Ventura had consensual sex with Combs a month after the alleged rape.

The lawyer, Anna Estevao, showed Ventura texts from September 2018 when she and Combs wrote of potentially meeting up and hugging after having not seen each other in a while.

“You don’t say anything to the effect of, ‘Last time we saw each other you raped me?'” Estevao asked.

“Right,” Ventura responded.

Ventura previously told jurors Combs raped her in her home after they broke up.

“I just remember crying and saying no, but it was very fast,” she said, as her voice trailed off.

During follow-up questioning by a prosecutor on Friday, Ventura said she had no doubt that Combs raped her. She also acknowledged having consensual sex with him a few weeks later.

Combs, previously known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, founded Bad Boy Records and is credited with helping turn artists like Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Notorious B.I.G. and Usher into stars in the 1990s and 2000s.

‘To Do the Right Thing’

Part of the criminal case stems from Ventura’s November 2023 civil lawsuit against Combs. She testified that he agreed after 24 hours to settle for $20 million.

Asked on Wednesday why she decided to testify against Combs, Ventura said she could no longer bear the emotional burden of years of his abuse, and ‘came here to do the right thing’.

Ventura told jurors she would give back the $20 million from her settlement if it meant never having to participate in Freak Offs.

After her testimony, Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, read for reporters a statement from Ventura that said: “For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember, and the more I can remember, the more I will never forget.”

Meanwhile, singer Justin Bieber’s representative issued a statement saying Bieber was not a victim of Combs but supports others who were victims and are seeking justice from the hip-hop mogul, TMZ and People reported on Friday.

Videos of Combs and Bieber spending time together prompted online speculation that Combs may have abused Bieber.

India, Pakistan were ‘very close’ to a nuclear war: Trump

Trump, India, Pakistan, nuclear

WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump claimed that Pakistan and India were very close to a nuclear war, calling the ceasefire agreement between the two nuclear-armed nations one of his “bigger successes.”

Speaking to Fox News during his visit to the Middle East, Trump discussed his role in mediating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, suggesting that his intervention helped prevent what he described as a potential nuclear conflict.

“That was going to be a nuclear war, I think, or close… And now everyone’s happy,” Trump said. “In fact, I told my people, call them up—let’s start trading immediately.”

He elaborated on his conversations with Pakistani leadership, saying, “I had great conversations with Pakistan. We can’t forget them. I talked about trade with Pakistan—they would love to trade. They are brilliant people and make incredible products. We don’t do much trading with them.”

Reiterating the severity of the situation, Trump emphasized, “India and Pakistan were very close to a nuclear war. And now everyone is happy. I’m using trade to settle scores and to make peace.”

Trump described his diplomatic achievement as one that won’t receive the credit it deserves. “A bigger success than I’ll ever be given credit for,” he said. “Those are major nuclear powers. Those are not just little powers and they were angry”.

Highlighting the escalation between the two nations, Trump said, “The next phase was probably, did you see where it was getting? It was tit for tat. It was getting deeper – more missiles, everyone was saying ‘stronger, stronger,’ to a point where the next one’s going to be, you know what? The N word.”

“It’s the N word. That’s a very nasty word, right? In a lot of ways. The N word used in a nuclear sense—that’s the worst thing that can happen. And I think they were very close. The hatred was great,” he added. “And I said, ‘We’re going to talk about trade. We’re going to do a lot of trade.’”

Trump also criticized India’s trade policies, saying, “India… they’re one of the highest tariff nations in the world. They make it almost impossible to do business. Do you know that they’re willing to cut 100% of their tariffs for the United States?”

IMF demands Pakistan to raise Rs430 billion in new taxes

IMF, Pakistan, new taxes

ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has urged Pakistan to increase tax revenues by Rs430 billion to set an ambitious Rs14.3 trillion tax collection target for the upcoming 2025–26 federal budget, according to official sources.

This recommendation was made during the second round of virtual negotiations between the IMF and the government, where detailed discussions centered around revenue targets and fiscal policy.

The IMF emphasized the need for urgent action to broaden the tax base, including swift resolution of tax-related court cases and the implementation of stronger enforcement measures.

The Fund proposed a significant increase in tax revenue, suggesting that Pakistan set a tax collection target of Rs 14.3 trillion for the next fiscal year with an additional taxes of Rs 430 billion to be generated through new taxation measures.

IMF also suggested that Rs600 billion can be raised solely through enforcement actions.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed the IMF delegation on the country’s economic performance and the challenges government is facing in achieving the tax collection.

Due to sluggish growth and persistent inflation, government estimates suggest that revenue collection may be limited to Rs 13.275 trillion. However Rs1.03 trillion could be collected through enforcement and policy reforms.

The IMF has also urged the government to increase documentation of high-potential sectors including tobacco, beverages, and real estate, while recommending improvements in real-time data collection and automation within the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The meeting also discussed enhancing FBR’s production data monitoring and improving documentation.

Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jet crashes, pilot ejects safely, air force says

Ukraine's F-16 fighter jet crashes, pilot ejects safely, air force says

Ukraine lost an F-16 fighter jet on Friday morning after an incident on board, though the pilot ejected safely, the Ukrainian air force said in a statement.

“According to preliminary data… an unusual situation arose on board. The pilot moved the aircraft away from the settlement and successfully ejected,” it said on the Telegram messenger.

The air force said the pilot was feeling fine.

It indicated that the crash did not appear to be the result of Russian fire and a commission had been appointed to investigate all circumstances of the incident.

The crash is the second involving an F-16 since Kyiv began receiving the fighter jets from U.S. allies last year as part of a programme approved by the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden.

In late August 2024, an F-16 crashed and its pilot died while repelling a major Russian air strike.

Ukraine does not disclose the number of aircraft it has received.

Indian travel firms report drop in Turkey bookings over Pakistan support

BENGALURU: Indians are cancelling holidays in popular resorts in Turkey and Azerbaijan after the countries supported Pakistan during its recent conflict with New Delhi, two booking firms said.

Ties between India and Pakistan nosedived after the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir last month that New Delhi said was backed by Islamabad.

Pakistan denied involvement, but intense fighting broke out when India struck in Pakistan last week. They agreed a ceasefire on Saturday which has largely held.

Turkey and Azerbaijan, popular budget holiday destinations for Indians, issued statements backing Islamabad after India’s strikes.

“Bookings for Azerbaijan and Turkey decreasing by 60% (over the last week) while cancellations have surged by 250% during the same period,” a spokesperson for MakeMyTrip said.

EaseMyTrip’s Chief Executive Officer, Rikant Pittie, said the platform had seen a 22% rise in cancellations for Turkey and 30% for Azerbaijan “due to recent geopolitical tensions”.

Travellers had switched to Georgia, Serbia, Greece, Thailand and Vietnam, he added.

Another ticketing platform, ixigo, earlier said in a post on X, that it would be suspending flight and hotel bookings for Turkey, Azerbaijan and China.

EaseMyTrip’s founder and chairman Nishant Pitti said in a post on X that 287,000 Indians visited Turkey last year and 243,000 visited Azerbaijan.

Setback for India as China reasserts Tibet claim by renaming 27 places in Arunachal Pradesh

China,-Tibet,-Arunachal Pradesh rename

The Chinese government has asserted that the renaming of places in Zangnan—what India refers to as Arunachal Pradesh—is a matter of China’s sovereignty.

India and China share a poorly demarcated 3,800-km (2,360-mile) frontier and fought a brief but brutal war in 1962. There have also been infrequent clashes between their troops, with 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers killed in the 2020 fighting.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the region holds historical, geographical, and administrative significance as an integral part of China.

In a formal statement, the ministry emphasized that the decision to assign Chinese names to locations in Zangnan falls under China’s internal affairs and is in line with its sovereign administrative authority.

Tensions between Beijing and New Delhi have long existed over this disputed region, and this latest move is expected to further strain relations between the two neighbors.

China has been carrying out this renaming the region since 2017, with the last one in Apr 2024 listing 30 sites with new Chinese names.

Since the first batch in 2017, China has released a total of 89 names for places in Arunachal Pradesh, which had been part of Tibet prior to the Shimla Convention (of 1014), which was arranged among Tibet, China, and Britain in the tailwind of the “Great Game” between the British and Russian empires, noted the ICT statement.

Malaysia PM discusses MH17 downing with Russia’s Putin

Malaysia-Russia, MH17 , Malaysian PM, Putin ,

Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he discussed the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Moscow, days after a U.N. report found Russia responsible for the disaster.

A U.N. aviation council found this week that Russia was responsible for the downing of MH17, which was shot down over eastern Ukraine in 2014 during fighting between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces.

Moscow has rejected the International Civil Aviation Organization Council’s (ICAO) findings on the crash that killed all 298 passengers and crew, calling the ruling biased.

Anwar said in a Facebook post late on Wednesday that he would continue to press for accountability over the disaster.

“Malaysia remains resolute in ensuring accountability and a just resolution for the victims and their families who continue to bear the weight of this tragedy,” he said.

Anwar said that in the meeting Putin expressed condolences to the families of those killed, which included 196 Dutch citizens, 43 Malaysians and 38 Australian citizens or residents.

Putin called for a thorough and comprehensive investigation that is not politicised, Anwar said.

“I mentioned that this is a report made by ICAO, to which he (Putin) replied that from the beginning, he had requested that the investigation be independent and thorough.”

Anwar said Putin told him that Russia is ready to provide its cooperation to ensure that the report is more credible or authoritative.

Dutch prosecutors accused Russia in a 2020 court case of trying to sabotage an investigation into the crash. The court later convicted two Russian intelligence agents and a Ukrainian separatist leader in absentia for their roles in the attack.

Anwar is in Russia for a three-day visit aimed at strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, agriculture, education, aerospace and energy.

Halle Bailey gets restraining order against ex-partner DDG

Halle Bailey gets restraining order against ex-partner DDG

A Los Angeles judge has granted a restraining order to Hollywood starlet Halle Bailey, who said her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG, has been repeatedly violent with her and she fears for herself and the baby they have together.

To Read Lifestyle Stories in Urdu- Click Here

The judge on Tuesday ordered DDG, whose legal name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., to stay away from Halle Bailey and their 17-month-old son, Halo, until a June 6 hearing.

“Throughout our relationship, Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me,” claimed ‘The Little Mermaid’ star in the documents. “I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son, Halo, from his ongoing abuse.”

However, a message seeking comment from a representative for Granberry was not immediately answered.

Notably, Bailey, 25, and DDG, 27, were in a relationship from 2022 until last year, and since their breakup, there have been ‘multiple acts of physical violence’, she said.

In a January incident that she recounts in detail, Bailey said that her ex-partner was repeatedly calling her a ‘bitch’ as she tried to strap the baby into a seat inside his car.

“The next thing I knew, things got physical between us,” she added. “We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain.”

Bailey even included photos of her tooth and bruises on her arms in the filing.

In March, she said DDG entered her house when she wasn’t home and texted her a photo of her bed along with a threatening message suggesting she was having sex with other men.

A few days later, she said, he berated her when she did not want to send their sick baby on a visit with him, and smashed the Ring camera on her porch when he realised it was recording the confrontation. She said when she called a relative for help, he took her phone and got into his car, slamming the door on her as she was holding the baby. Bailey filed a police report over the incident.

She also asked for DDG to be ordered to stop using his streaming platforms on Twitch and YouTube to turn his followers against her.

“Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad-mouthing me to his several million of fans,” she noted in the documents. “He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”

The YouTuber was also ordered not to possess any weapons, or the judge can extend the order for up to five years at the June 6 hearing.

Trump heads to the Gulf eyeing deals amid diplomatic offensive

Trump Gulf visit, deals, diplomatic offensive

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Donald Trump will arrive in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday on the first leg of a Gulf tour that will also take him to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, eyeing business deals even as accords on the Middle East’s hotspots will likely be harder to reach.

The trip marks the US president’s first major visit abroad of his second term, with the White House saying he looked forward to a “historic return” to the region.

Eight years ago, Trump also chose Saudi Arabia for his first overseas trip as president — when he memorably posed with a glowing orb and participated in a sword dance.

His decision to once again bypass traditional Western allies to travel to the oil-rich Gulf states underscores their increasingly crucial geopolitical role — along with his own business relations in the region.

In the days before the trip, the White House has played an instrumental part in hammering out a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the release of an American hostage in Gaza and holding another round of nuclear talks with Iran.

Those initiatives came after a surprise announcement by Trump last week of agreeing to a truce with the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.

‘Deals’

But the focus during the tour of the Gulf will likely be locking down business agreements.

“White House sources have indicated that the president will focus on ‘deals’,” wrote Daniel B. Shapiro, a distinguished fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative.

Riyadh, Doha and Abu Dhabi are expected to roll out the red carpet with a lavish royal welcome for the 78-year-old billionaire.

“The president looks forward to embarking on his historic return to the Middle East” to promote a vision where “extremism is defeated in place of commerce and cultural exchanges”, Trump’s spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said ahead of the trip.

The Gulf states have positioned themselves as key diplomatic partners during Trump’s second term.

Doha remains a major broker for negotiations between Hamas and Israel, while Saudi Arabia has facilitated talks on the war in Ukraine.

Talk of returning to the kingdom has been circulating for months, with Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman vowing to pour $600 billion into US trade and investments.

“I’ll be asking the crown prince, who’s a fantastic guy, to round it out to around one trillion. I think they’ll do that because we’ve been very good to them,” Trump said in response to the offer.

According to a Saudi official close to the defence ministry, Riyadh will push for securing the latest US F-35 fighter jets along with state-of-the-art air defence systems worth billions of dollars.

“We will condition that the deliveries take place during Trump’s term,” the source told AFP.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation for prostitution – all felonies. He could face decades or even life in prison if convicted at the trial in Manhattan federal court.

Defence lawyer Marc Agnifilo told U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian during a hearing Friday that he plans to show there was mutual violence between Combs and his ex-girlfriend, Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, who is expected to testify as a star witness for the prosecution.

“I think we’re probably going to refer to that as domestic violence,” Agnifilo said, arguing Ventura’s alleged history of violence would undercut prosecutors’ argument that she was a victim.

Ventura’s lawyers declined to comment on Agnifilo’s remarks.

Subramanian appeared disinclined to allow the defence to introduce evidence of any alleged violence by Ventura but said he would rule on the issue on Monday, when a jury of 12 New Yorkers is set to be finalised ahead of opening statements by defence lawyers and prosecutors.

Combs, 55, was present in the courtroom Friday, sporting greying hair and a sweater over a white shirt. He has been held in a federal lockup in Brooklyn since his arrest last September.

Combs, a Harlem native who founded the pioneering record label Bad Boy Records and discovered iconic rappers including the Notorious B.I.G., was arrested last September and has been held in a Brooklyn federal lockup since then.

Prosecutors with the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office say that for two decades, Combs used his business empire to lure women into his orbit with promises of romantic relationships or financial support, then violently coerced them to take part in days-long, drug-fueled sexual performances known as ‘Freak Offs’.

Combs’ lawyers have said prosecutors are improperly seeking to criminalise Combs’ ‘swinger lifestyle’. They have signalled they plan to attack the credibility of the alleged victims who will testify by seeking to show they had financial incentives to accuse Combs. They have said the women gave inconsistent accounts of the alleged assaults to investigators.

Subramanian has said the trial will last around eight weeks, with the alternate jurors serving as backups in case jurors are unable to finish. Any verdict must be unanimous.

Robert De Niro to receive honorary Palme d’Or at Cannes

Robert De Niro will receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, a culmination for the 81-year-old actor whose history with the French film festival stretches back half a century.

In 1976, Robert De Niro starred in two films — Martin Scorsese’s ‘Taxi Driver’ and Bernardo Bertolucci’s ‘1900’ — that premiered in competition at Cannes. ‘Taxi Driver’ was an immediate sensation and went home with the festival’s top prize, the Palme d’Or.

Since then, De Niro has been a regular on the Croisette, returning with ‘The King of Comedy’ in 1983, Sergio Leone’s ‘Once Upon a Time in America’ in 1984 and Roland Joffé’s ‘The Mission’ in 1986. Joffé’s film also won the Palme d’Or, making De Niro the rare actor to star in two Palme d’Or winners.

Though De Niro helps run his own film festival back in New York, the Tribeca Festival, he has remained a mainstay in Cannes. He presided over the jury in 2011 that selected Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree of Life’ for the Palme. Most recently, he and Scorsese returned to premiere ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in 2023.

“I have such close feelings for Festival de Cannes,” De Niro said when his honorary Palme d’Or was announced last month. “Especially now, when there’s so much in the world pulling us apart, Cannes brings us together — storytellers, filmmakers, fans, and friends. It’s like coming home.”

De Niro will receive the award in the festival’s opening ceremony on May 13.

Pakistani radars ‘constantly’ monitoring Indian drones, says DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s air defense systems are continuously monitoring Indian drones, with the capability to track even small unmanned aerial vehicles, ARY News reported quoting ISPR.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that all drones entering Pakistani airspace are constantly observed on radar, and operational protocols are in place to neutralize them, in civilian areas or near commercial flight paths.

Security sources said that six Indian drones, identified as Israeli-made Harop, were destroyed in Vehari, Pakpattan, and Okara. One drone was shot down in Vehari, one in Pakpattan, and four in Okara, taking the total number of destroyed drone to 35.

The successful tracking and destruction of Harop drones underscore the strength of Pakistan’s military infrastructure, which continues to thwart hostile Indian incursions effectively.

Earlier, Information and Broadcasting Minister Atta Tarar also said that the Air Defence of Pakistan has successfully shot down another drone in Bahawalnagar.

In a post on X, Attaullah Tarar said, “Pakistan Air Defence has successfully shot down another Harop drone in Bahawalnagar. Alhamdulillah.”

It is worth mentioning here that security sources have also categorically rejected reports in the Indian media alleging Pakistani attacks on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), terming them as white lies aimed at misleading the international community.

The false narratives are being spread to create the impression that Pakistan has launched an assault on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

“These fabricated stories are designed to provide India with a pretext to continue its aggression against Pakistan,” the sources said

They added that the reports lack any truth and are entirely baseless.

“There is no credibility to these concocted claims,” they added, accusing India of using disinformation to justify its recent military misadventure, including missile and drone strikes on Pakistani territory

In a phone call with United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan reserves right to act in its self defence in response to Indian misadventure

In the discussion with the US Secretary of State, who serves as the principal advisor to US President Donald Trump, on all foreign affairs matters, the prime minister strongly condemned India’s missile and drone attacks, which resulted in 31 civilian deaths, 57 injuries, and significant damage to civilian infrastructure, as stated in a press release from the PM House Press Wing.

He stressed that India’s actions infringed upon Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, severely threatening peace and stability in South Asia.
