ISLAMABAD: “Matters are moving on backdoor with the PTI’s founder but the May 09 issue has been the sticking point”, JUI leader Hafiz Hamdullah said in an interview with ARY News on Monday.

“PTI’s founder is saying, he didn’t commit anything, why he beg pardon over it,” Hamdullah said.

He said the party’s founder is also not been prepared to go outside the country.”It was said in a meeting that the PTI’s founder talks about election, ‘how could it happens'”.

“Any breakthrough with the PTI’s founder is not improbable,” JUI leader said.

Hafiz Hamdullah said, “Nawaz Sharif and the People’s Party did that thing, what they were promising not to do”.

“This is not a government and neither I accept their mandate,” JUI leader said.

“If the government completed its tenure, it will be on the cost of playing havoc with the country,” he said.

“The JUI will not back the military courts at any cost,” replying a question he added.

SC declares plea seeking same facilities for all inmates inadmissible

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench declared the plea seeking same facilities for all inmates inadmissible, ARY News reported.

As per details, the constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin, comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel disposed off the plea, stating that its not the Supreme Court’s responsibility to review the facilities provided to inmates.

The court urged the petitioner to approach the concerned provincial courts if there is any objection to the jail rules.

In a separate development earlier prisoners in Punjab jails demanded same facilities as those provided to Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala jail.

In a letter written to Punjab advocate general, IG prisons stated that the prisoners have requested the same privileges as Imran Khan, including six meetings with his lawyers in a day.

The prisoners have expressed their discontent with the special treatment given to the former prime minister. They have argued that providing such facilities to one person while denying them to others is a violation of the Prison Rules 1978.

Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi expressed displeasure over the overcrowding in jails of the country, saying that over 108,000 persons are incarcerated in the prisons originally designed for 66,625 inmates.

Chaired a meeting focused on improving prison conditions and the welfare of prisoners, the CJP while quoting the Law and Justice Commission said that 36,128 prisoners have been waiting for trial for over a year.

CJP Yahya Afridi said that Punjab province is the most affected by overcrowding in jails with 67,837 prisoners being held in facilities meant for 36,365. He was of the view that the large number of prisoners waiting for trial highlights the need for judicial reform.

Sindh Culture Day is being celebrated on Sunday with zeal and zest across the province and elsewhere in the country.

The day is celebrated on the first Sunday of every December.

On this occasion, various cultural, government, and non-government organizations organized seminars, rallies and conferences to highlight the centuries-old culture of Sindh valley.

Donning cultural dresses with Sindhi topi and ajrak, the traditional block printed shawls to spotlight the centuries-old rich culture of Sindh.

A large number of people including political workers, leaders, NGOs, students, laborers, villagers, associations, and workers purchased the traditional Topi and Ajrak to mark the day.

As the demand for Topi and Ajrak was soaring, the shopkeepers also raised the prices.

The Chief Minister’s message extended his greetings to “the heirs of the great Sindhi civilization living all over the world.” He emphasized that nations are recognized by their culture, and Sindh’s identity is rooted in peace, love, and brotherhood. Shah expressed pride in being born on the land of Sufis, highlighting Sindh’s unbreakable tradition of hospitality and its legacy of tolerance.

Murad Ali Shah reflected on his family’s history of service to Sindh, calling it an honor, and vowed to work towards making Sindh a cradle of peace and a modern leader in cultural and developmental excellence.
