KARACHI: Taking strict notice of noise pollution, the judicial magistrate has ordered authorities to take action against the sellers and users of toy horns (vuvuzelas) on the occasion of Independence Day, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
As Independence Day approaches, the sight of vuvuzelas hanging alongside other merchandise at stalls is a common sight across the country.
Taking strict notice, Judicial Magistrate-X (Malir) Syed Anwar Ali Shah has ordered the police to take stern action under Section 190(c) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against the use or selling of vuvuzelas, commonly known as honking toy horns.
The magistrate also directed the Sachal and Sharafi Goth SHOs to take stern action against individuals selling and using such toys under the provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Nation celebrates Independence Day with traditional Baaja
In preparation for Independence Day on August 14, people decorate their vehicles, motorcycles, cars, and motorbikes every year with the green colour and Pakistan’s flags, while residents adorn their houses, bazaars, and markets with flags and lights to express their love for the country on the occasion.
This year will mark 76 years since Pakistan’s independence.
